So i bought the samsung Captivate from amazon on november 19, and it arrived the 26th. I immediately fell in love with it, and the whole idea of android, however, I am beginning to regret buying this piece of *Holy Crap Look Its Punisher* phone

I bought this phone to replace my gps, won't lock on to anything, claims im in new york, I LIVE IN CHICAGO!

My phone turns off every time i lock it (standby mode), which is not acceptable, as I use this phone for my work

The lag isn't as bad as people were saying, but enough to be annoying

what i really want to do is return this phone for the iphone 4, does anyone know if i can bring this to at&t store, even though i didn't buy it there, and replace it with an iphone 4?

Well first off if you really love this phone all of these things you described are NOT acceptable and you should go and exchange it for another one these are fantastic phones i think you should give a working one a real shot before you jump on the apple boat its a very constricted boat

You will have to return it to Amazon Wireless. You are within the 30 day return window so they should be able to help you. I've never returned a cell phone to Amazon but I have found their customer service to be very good.

I don't know if they can broker the service swap between the phones with AT&T wireless. Ask them when you call.

well att should be able to exchange it for a different one but you will have to call their customer support because the stores (at least by my house) never exchange it in the store for you they always make you send it in.

As far as your issues go im sorry that you got a bad phone, the gps works for some and not for others and as for shutting down while locking are you sure that your not long pressing the power key and hitting shutdown? Not trying to make you sound like you dont know what you are doing but just one of those tidbits of info that we need to know.

Just letting everyone know who has a Galaxy S phone. I called ATT (6/21/11)and let them know that my phone has random shutdowns (once monthly), they checked the EMIE (I think that is what it is called) # on the phone, and they are replacing at no cost. I currently have a remanufactured (30 day warranty)1006 build I purchased Oct. 2010. My new SGS is shipped.  I assume my new Captivate will also have better GPS capabilities.
My new Captivate arrived, 1008 build, the GPS tracked me perfectly at 70 mph on the interstate.  My old one would not track if I was walking.
