I bought a second battery to swap out when the phone is ready to die.
I charge the second battery using a clip charger.

I recommend this battery and to anyone that hates watching their phone die.

Nice one. I will most likely get an extra one myself, the battery does seem to go down quiet quickly. So far, the battery goes from 100% in the morning to about 10% at night, so the extra battery will be nice.

I'm also looking for a portable device to charge the battery just in case. What is this clip charger you mentioned?

abond: I purchased mine from Amazon at the same time I purchased the battery.
Both are made by RND Power Solutions and purchasing together I received free shipping.

The cool thing about the clip charger you can charge the battery outside the phone and also charge your phone through the USB port.

Great solution for any type of phone.

Hope this helps.

Hi, This is not mine but thought I'd post it for you. I did perform this and now my battery is lasting 3 days with moderate use.  I would die over night sitting idle.

BATTERY Calibrate
So, you are having trouble with your battery seemingly draining too quickly, especially after having flashed many ROMs/Kernels/etc...

It is possible that the problem (or part of the problem) is not necessarily the phone using too much power. If this is the case for you, you should see some results from doing the following:

1. Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until it shows 100%

2. Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.

3. Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the battery indicator shows 100% (you can use vol-up/vol-down to make the indicator come back up when the screen goes to sleep).

4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.

5. Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the battery indicator shows 100%.

6. Disconnect the phone, power it on, and use it.

You should only need to use this sequence one time.

@cell ares
Amazing, this is definitely on my wishlist. I am probably going to order both at the same time as well.

@louvass
Interesting. I will try this at some point. Seems very elaborate, but it seems followable. Any reason as to how this actually works?

I thought the proper way to re-callibrate a battery was to let it drain completely, to the point the phone turns off... then turn it on and allow it to turn off again.  Give it a few hours of down time, then charge it to 100%.

Not sure how bumping it to 100% a couple of times within a few minutes does much... not disagreeing, just can't quite understand  how that would work.   If it does, it's certainly much quicker than the alternative.

Yes me too but I did this and like I said I get about 3 days out of it, originally it was draining overnight without touching it before I did this.

I just looked at the clip thing again, and at first glance, I thought it was a portable charging device, like something you can use to charge on the go. After glancing at it again, I find that I am wrong.

Is there such a thing? Some sort of AA/etc battery powered widget that can charge phone batteries without an outlet?

The clip is still useful and I will still probably get it, but an on-the-go charger would be nifty as well.

Energizer makes one for about 50.  You can charge two things at once in fact.

Nice! That was exactly what I was looking for, thanks.

There is one that is priced at $50, and another that is $40.

http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-XP4000-Universal-Rechargeable-Power/dp/B0029U2WTG/ref=pd_cp_p_1

The only difference I can tell between the two is that the $50 one can charge two devices at once.

It is a bit expensive, but I may grab this instead of the extra battery and clip.

Out here in California we have a discount store called "Tuesday Morning". I was in there last week and they had quite a few of the Energizer chargers for something like $25.

So its been around 2 months since my first post on the RND Power Solutions battery.

The battery is performing the same and if not longer then original use.
I am happy with this purchase.

Also I do agree I would stay away from ebay and the cheap batteries.
I here cases of ebay batteries burning up the back of phones.

2 batteries + charger is a scam. Batteries will perform if you are lucky 75% of the original and the charger takes 6-7 hours to charge.
