I noticed that if I enable the " battery saving mode" in display settings on my cappy running Paragon my battery will drain really really fast, however if I dissable it, the battery will last much longer than factory. I know a previous rom I had drained the battery really fast also (Ultimate I think) and now I am wondering if this is what caused it.

Perhaps the battery saving features that the authors write into their roms conflict with the battery saving mode that came with the phone.

Just a heads up.

Callsonic,

What version of Paragon are you running?  I am running the RC5.1 (latest) and the RC5beta before that and not experienced any problem with battery life.  I checked and the Power Saving Mode was on in the Settings > Display menu.

It could be an app that you have loaded onto your phone or maybe wifi turned on and searching for a signal or 3G searching for a signal.

Try pin-pointing which app may be using up your battery, like ones that are running all the time in the background, etc.  If you can't find the culpret, look at some of the apps that have battery stats more than the battery usage that Android displays.

If you find anything post a reply.

Also, it is important that you flash with a full battery and/or do the battery calibration after you flash.

Like I said, if I dissable it, the battery life is great, so that would be the culprit. May its just my phone in particular.
Wifi is off with the screen and their aren't any appear running that I didn't have on perception or cognition ( on which I had no battery issues).

It is rc5.1.

Ok, I realize this post is a little old but I thought I would share my experience. I am running paragon 6.0. Today my battery was horrible. I looked at spare parts app, and it is my wifi sucking all the power. I was on cognition 4.3 and it was working great until one day I couldn't even make it till lunch on a charge.  I decided to flash paragon to see if it was the rom. At first I was very happy with paragon, but today was my third day using it, and my battery was at 26% when I got home from work. Normally it would be at 70%. Anyways I am going to try to turn off power save mode and see if that does actually help, otherwise I will have to use tasker to periodically turn on my wifi to check for a connection so it doesn't drain the battery looking for one, even though at work there is always a wifi connection so I don't know why it is looking.
