Using GPS Test from the Android Market, the HTC Desire in this video gets down to 1 foot towards the end...

The best I've ever gotten was 16.4 feet and that is only for a couple seconds at a time.  I've noticed that using GPS Test, all of the numbers I get are perfectly divisible by 16.4 meaning I only see:

- 16.4 feet
- 32.8 feet
- 49.2 feet

And so on.  If you have gotten more accurate than 16.4 feet, did you have to do anything special?

My old school LG Incite running WinMo 6.1 could even get down to 4-6 feet.

The above info doesnt mean much. The accuracy data is for information purposes only. The unit could tell you that it's accurate within X meters, but the GPS fix may be totally off.  If you want to measure accuaracy you need to measure and record the coordinates with an actual dedicated GPS unit like from Garmin or TomTom and compare the data with your smartphone.
