Well I may have made a mistake of getting rid of my eternity for this captivate i897 phone. I bought this at my local pawn shop and the external speaker cuts in and out , if I tap on the speaker the sounds comes back for a while then it cuts out again, tapping on the speaker lightly brings the sound back and so on. I took it to two cell repair shops today and one dealer said they could replace the speaker and solve the issue for 65 dollares and one dealer said it was the circuit board chip and would be about 175 to 200 dollares to fix it.
I am at a loss as to who to believe about getting this issue corrected. Anyone know about this type of speaker problem. i did the search and read about some issues with it.
