My Samsung Captivate phone stopped working totally during the upgrade process to 2.3 Gimgrbread.  When the upgrade process started, and was at 1% or so the phone turned totally orange and stayed on 1% for a long time.  It then turned black and I couldn't get it turned on or started again at all.  The battery and the power cord are working fine as I was able to check with another phone.  Tried everything like pressing the volume and pwer buttons together, removing and reinserting battery, etc.  Nothings helps.  The phone was perfectly fine before I started the upgrade process.  Would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

I actually had a similar issue today.  As I was trying to upgrade the phone just stopped working.  Kies told me that it didn't work properly and asked me to put it in emergency management mode or something like that.  None of the directions worked and Samsung says the only way for them to help me is for me to mail it in.  I contacted Best Buy and AT&T and they said they won't do anything due to a minor crack in the plastic near where the charger gets put in.

The only symbol that shows up is a little phone with a computer connected and a little orange triangle between the two.

Any help at all would be extremely helpful.

I was actually able to find a forum post on xda last night that was able to lead me to a 1 click unbrick program that fixed my problem.  I can't seem to find it now, but if you look on xda you might be able to find an answer to your problem.  Hope this helps.
