Captivate stylus

From what I have been told and tried a stylus will not work on these screens. I know I tried several on my friends Droid from verizon and we never got it to work.

Mine won't work with one either !

That would make sense since it's a glass screen with the touch sensor underneath...

i have a stylus somewhere from my impression but dont use it since fingers tend to work fine

It is not a heat sensor.  It is capacitive which means that it detects current going through your body.  So you need a stylus that is compatible with a capacitive screan.  Most other styluses are desined for restive screans.  Those are pretty much your only two screen choices these days for touch technology in cell phones (although there are a lot of different touch screen technologies out there.)

How it works exactly;
A capacitive touchscreen panel consists of an insulator such as glass, coated with a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide. As the human body is also a conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen's electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance. Different technologies may be used to determine the location of the touch. The location is then sent to the controller for processing.

I've been on the search of a thin stylus for accurate usage but most styli you will find will have a ridiculous thick nub at the end. However, I was able to find a nifty little stylus made by the company 'Dagi' that has a transparent tip with a red dot. Seems like a nice one. If anyone has one, I would like to hear a testimonial as i'm thinking about buying one.
