Ok so I got a cell phone case just because i was afraid of dropping my Captivate bc the thing felt like a bar of soap in my clumsy hands. I bought this Black silicone case for real cheap ONLY $0.95 the shipping and handling is what killed it lol like $2.95 or something well anyways.

The case fits real nice around the phone, not snug though but not loose. All of the holes are there for the speaker, camera, headphone jack, and usb port.

It has bumped spots for the volume and power buttons and quite surprisingly it makes it a lot easier to push the buttons

The case does not go onto the screen and hinder your "touching" abilities and it seems like it makes it easier to hit the bottom row of buttons on the right spot

Of course to the upsides are the downsides

Since it is made of silicone it attracts dust and a lot of it if it is in your pocket but i knew that when i bought it and you can still see the spots of the edges of the molding where they cut it out but its not that bad

i would give it a 4/5 bc for the price its not that bad

I have the same case and I love it.  Like you said the fit is as it should be. All the holes are where they should be and you're right it does make the buttons easier to push! lol.

My experience with the bottom buttons was a bit different.  It had taken me some time to get used to that kind of button so when I put the case on I had to readjust to how I needed to press it.

I have the same con. It does attract dust but it's a minor problem for such a cheap case.

Now I just need a screen protector. i got one and dust got trapped under it so I had to take it off. Going to order a multipack from amazon. The first to get all the dust off and the second to actually apply. Either that or I'll just go to an ATT store Embarrased

kelce02....have you seen the reviews about the screens for the galaxys /Captivates?

There is this review by some Korean website where the seriously put it to the test, should be posted here on the forums as well.  They're calling it "gorilla glass" and supposed to be resilient to A LOT of damage making a cover more of a hindrance than a help.

Well if you test it out let me know the results :p

Also yes 2m drop is dangerous. Forget the screen. What are you shaking loose on the insides!

I'm not brave enough but this definitely makes me hold off on the screen protector.

...But don't hold off on getting a case.  The back plate is made of carbon fiber and can and will scratch easily.

I just ordered a zooly argyle black tpu case from ebay. Its made of different material than silicone, its a thermoplastic polyurethane mold. (tpu)

Anyone else have or had a tpu case?
