After removing the InvisableShield screen protector I decided I sould write and voice my disappointment in the product.... since the Aria version was actually really nice.

I received a response and they are replacing mine with a new one.  Hopefully mine was just a bad one and the new one works out as nicely as the other model we purchased.   Thought it was nice they wrote back and stand behind their product.

I picked up a zagg for mine when I realized it had gone in my coat pocket along with my keys, flashlight, multitool (without sheath). looks like I paid way more than you guys ($25.00 at Radio Shack, I should know better)

I don't mind the slight sticky, the back button is a bit harder to push, I also picked up a cheap body glove bag for it. not to sure if I'm going to go with the otterbox or not. after the $25.00 for the Zagg I'm thinking I'm in the wrong business. I need to be doing cell phone accessories.

Well, after a full day using the Invisableshield, I have decided it was definitely not worth the 20 dollars I spent on it.  Many imperfections in the plastic including long lines running top to bottom making the view annoying and the feel is like running your fingers along a piece of leather vise a piece of smooth glass.

It is definitely totally different than the Invisableshield version we received for the HTC Aria which is smooth and with no imperfections in view.
I'll be taking this off tonight.

I did order the Otterbox Commuter case today which comes with a screen protector so I'll try that but may decide on going without.

I received the replacement ZAGG Shield and it is by far nicer than the one I originally received.  It went on cleanly and has a smooth flat feel.  No air bubbles to fight with when I installed, and there are no lines visible through the screen as in the first one.
All the lower buttons work as they did before installing.

Nice to see that Zagg's warranty program works as they state... just filled out the online form and they sent the new one.....  now if I can just remember to return the bad one.  :-)

I'm still on the fence myself.  In playing with my older brothers Moto Driod (screen been acting odd) and the Zagg skin I ended up having to put on it for him.  The sticky feeling has gone away, tho right now I still have the manufacturer cover on mine, my fingers slide across both with equal ease.  He's had the phone for a lil over a year.

Does anyone here have a Skinomi TachSkin on the face of the phone?  Cuz from the Pic's on the website http://www.skinomi.com/samsung-Captivate-screen-protector.html it looks like the bottom might be exposed.  If so I might go that route, since I've read in reviews that sometime they can get pressed by accident.  For me this would help indicate when i'm getting to close to them.

I wasnt using a screen protector for a looooong time, but now I use one.

About a month ago,  my screen got scratched!!!!  Shocked Shocked Shocked Angry

It was about a centimeter in length, and about 1/4 the thickness of a thin strand of hair.

The scratch was clearly visible if you tilted the phone in a way in order to see it.

THAT MADE ME EXTREMELY, INCREDIBLY MAD!!!  Angry Angry Angry

So I bought a Cellet screen protector.  The product works really well and hasnt scratched even once.  Smile

I am usually not a fan of screen protectors, but I have recently found a high liking for a certain kind.

A friend of mine, whom of which I compare smartphones with often, went out and got a screen protector that had a type of matte finish to it. This screen protector was fingerprint proof and had a very smooth feel to it as opposed to the sometimes sticky or jagged feel to a glass screen. The protector also had an anti-glare property to it, which was nice.

I went ahead and tried to look for an equivalent for the Captivate and found this: http://www.amazon.com/SGP-Steinheil-Anti-Fingerprint-Captivate-Protector/dp/B003ZBTMBO/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1NHYKIJJHHNQ5&colid=NDTIJT67TP83

I believe most anti-glare screen protectors are similar as well, but these are exactly it. Some people say that it blurs the screen a little bit, but I haven't seen an issue with it yet. Plus, even if it did slightly, it is a trade off of having fingerprint oil everywhere and looking annoying or having a little bit of blur.

I'm suprised about all the hate against the Invisible shield.  I have one on my Captivate, in fact I got me and my wife's cappy's from best buy and just decided to go ahead and have them install them there.  I had one on my mythic too.  I love the invisible shields personally and the surface feels fine IMO.  I don't know if its needed or not on the Captivate, but I know my mythic and eternity would scratch real easily.  Then again they also had plastic screens while the Captivate has glass.

Anyway I got me and my wife's cappy's in November and they both are still sportin the invisible shields.

That anti-fingerprint protector sounds good but I use TrueVue by Lexrd;
http://www.amazon.com/Lexerd-SAMSUNG-Captivate-SGH-i897-Protector/dp/B003WKBSWE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1299097832&sr=8-1-catcorr
No stickiness
No orange peel
Doesn't feel like plastic
Crystal clear
Wipes clean easily with microfiber
Swype and buttons work just as if no protector is on
Doesn't come off or need replaced. It's been three months with it on
Doesn't collect debris under the edges but I also am using soft silicone skin that covers them. Use the finger cots that come with the protector for a bubble-free install.

I ended up going with bestskinever.  It's not 100%, but I also only spent about 20 sec, working out positioning and applying it.  No noticeable lost in responsiveness, no noticeable image lost/distortion.  If/when it starts to peel, i'll just go bare.

I also grabbed a Zagg leather back skin (only bothered to put on the part for the battery cover), it's a dry apply style and after about a month and a half the leather is starting to separate from the adhesive... when it gets bad enough I'll try asking for a replacement, but I won't buy another.

I might still get something for the back, to help bump it out and make the phone easy to hold, since I've had a few drops with the slick metal backing.  All onto padded carpet so no damage to phone, but a unintentional drop none the less.
