As we venture into increased membership and subsequent increases in post counts, housekeeping is a necessity. You may see a few minor changes and/or tweaks to the boards that could potentially impact your current posting trends.
Here are some of the ongoing changes being made -- list will be updated as cleanup continues:
Threads/Posts about Android Updates: Obviously enough, there's no real reason to have 452,778 threads about Froyo and when it's coming out. All current Froyo/Gingerbread threads will be closed and new consolidated posts will be created for each (2.2 & 2.3). All future discussions should take place in the consolidated threads -- if new threads are opened, they will be locked and the post moved to the consolidated thread.
Category Descriptions: Category Descriptions have been modified to present a more concise description of the category itself so posting will (hopefully) be created in the proper area.
Help & Assistance Category: This will no longer be the "catch-all" category to post a problem. There are many sub-categories that cover a lot of various areas of the phone (and more could be added if warranted), but these other categories are not being used properly. Moving forward, if you post something in the Help & Assistance category that belongs in a different one, it will be moved to the proper category.
Off-Topic Lounge: The off-topic lounge was made in mind to discuss anything that was not phone-related...so phone-related posts and responses would not be buried under other menial topics. Any phone-related threads will be moved to the proper category.
