Just got my Captivate about 10 days ago.  I am getting used to it; getting a little less frustrated.  However there are 2 things missing and I can't seem to find apps that will work.  If I can't resolve these I am going to have to return it and go back to my Windows Mobile.

I am a religious user of Outlook Tasks for my job.  I can not find a to-do list anywhere on my device, and none of the apps I find say anything about synching with Outlook Tasks.

2nd, I was told it would do voice dialing from my contacts list, as well as recognize numbers (e.g. "call 123-4567").  I downloaded Google voice but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.

Can any of you recommend apps for either of these?  I am new to the boards.  I searched the forum for "to-do" and "to do" but didn't find anything.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Our phone has issues with outlook and people have had trouble getting it to work with our phone, as for something that would help you with the tasks i cant really help you there

as for voice dialing, google voice is somethign completely different, it allows you to set up another number that you can access on teh computer or on your phone which will allow you to make phone calls or text from your google voice number also it allows you to set up a voice mail server which is a lot better than what att gives you

for voice dialing try vlingo it is an app made for the car which should be what you are looking for

Thanks for the feedback and the quick response.  It looks like I will be a short-termer here.  On the phone with ATT now to see about swapping back to my 4 year old Win mobile phone  Crying  Kind of ridiculous...but....

Stratmaster, like a lot of us, you were lied to. Captivate doesn't do those functions.

well it does technically we just have to force it to, but there are other options out there like black berries or the new windows mobile phones every thought of trying one of those out?

hate to see people go but if this phone isnt for you then go ahead and trade it in why stick with something that you hate?
