File Manager

Forget Ringdroid ~ it's too difficult to use and makes cruddy sound files - use Ringo Lite and use any unaltered music file as a ringtone for any contact!

Pandora or Slacker (I like Slacker better) internet radio
Olivetree Bible Reader
Sygic Mobile Maps (paid $45)
Trapster navigation/speed trap/road hazard reporting
Mapdroyd
Super Compass
Quick Settings
Advanced Task Killer
Battery Indicator (task bar percentage indicator)
Lookout Anti-virus/backup
Titanium Backup
SMS Backup & Restore
Animated Weather Pro - got full version for trying Restaurants.com and am very pleased with both
First Aid
Hands Only CPR
Abduction!
Guns'n'Glory Free
Atomic Bomber

I recommend Glympse.  This is a location sharing app similar to Google's Latitude, except it has better privacy. It works cross platform (e.g. works with other androids, blackberry, iPhone, iPad and web browsers on notebooks etc)and best of all it's FREE.

The app enables you to share your real time location, how long you want your location to be shared, a quick message and destination.  When ready, the app sends a link via sms or email to the person(s) you designate.  Folks receiving the link can open up a browser and see your location in real time (with manual refresh).  If they have Glympse on their mobile, they can see your location and are automatically updated (no manual refresh needed).

This app works great for letting someone know you're on your way or coordinating a meeting at an unfamiliar location with several people.

At the moment these are on my home pages;

Home Switcher
Quick Settings
Cleaner
Titanium Back-Up
Audio Manager
Jorte (calender)
More Icons Widget
Switch Pro
Weather Bug
Several App Removers
Duel File Manager
App Categories

Right now I'm down to 53 user apps. And that's down from,,,,,,,,,well, a lot. Over 150. I went through and "cleaned house". If I haven't used it or only used it once since I installed it, it's gone.

I have 4 launchers loaded right now. The stock TWLauncher, Open Home, Launcher Pro and my latest favorite ADW Launcher. I like Launcher Pro a lot, but ADW Launcher has some cool features too. They are actually quite comparable. I just keep Open Home loaded in case of emergency. I had A-home and had a catastrophic failure with it and I was lucky enough to be able to get Open Home to open up and take care of it. That's when I un-installed A-home. For the last week or so I have been using ADW. I change home page layouts like ladies change shoes. (no offense, been married for 25 years)
Just my input on launchers.

Any good news widgets , at first look I am disappointed with the "Daily Briefing" app/widget , that can't be customized right for different feeds and so on?

OK.. I looked around and didn't see anything on this one..

lightning bug (clock sleep)

This is very cool with lots of "you pick it" options for sounds and scenes.
A very nice clock app to be sure..

One of my favorite apps is Gordian decoder tool. You can use it to encrypt messages and decrypt them too. It is free on the market  Wink Wink

Here is an updated of apps that i use ALL THE TIME and highly recommend

Adfree(needs root)- Block those annoying ads
Advance Task Kill - Kill those annoying background tasks
Astro(needs root to view system files)- A lot better than the stock file browser
AutoKiller Memory - Suppose to stop apps before they start I use it along side ATK and keeps my memory around 140-150
handyCalc - has a lot more features than stock calcualtor
Lookout - antivirus software and also can be used to find your phone if you ever lose it
Market Access or Market Enabler (root needed)- Can be used to download items from other carriers
SGS Tools(Root needed)- can be used to change a lot of items on your phone
Where'sMyDroid - Helps you find your droid by texting to it

for launchers ive changed my mind on which one is my favorite was using launcherpro which was nice but now have switched to adw ex which is so much cooler missing some features that i liked in launcher pro but still worth the money for it

New to this forum while trying to troubleshoot my battery problems but thought I'd submit my favorite app Zazu, replaces the built in alarm and after it rings to wake you up, reads you information from your calendar, weather, news and twitter.

It's pretty much waking up like Tony Stark in Iron Man ;-) Iron Man's Alarm Clock(scene from movie) (The video's owner prevents external embedding)

No one's mentioned "My Movies"
I actually paid for the pro version (one of my few paid apps), so that I can have an up to date list of my collection where ever I am.  Then when I see a good deal on a DVD/blu-ray I don't have to worry about whether I already have bought the movie before.
It also lets you search your collection by actor/director, has a new release calendar to let you know what comes out this week, and has trailers you can view for the new stuff.

Cthulhiod- If you're a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, this is a must! I absolutely love his work and own a handful of his books. I was so happy when I found this app. It's got everything you need and is very informal.

Mr. Number- Blocks calls and messages.. (I think). I guess it's not bad to have. I'm not completely sure if it works though. I have it set so no one in my contacts can message or call me after I had someone who I don't want anything to do with sent me a message.

Bubble- In case you need something level or plum. Probably the best thing.

Little Photo- I think it's better than FxCamera, if not the best out there. Does so much.

Fat Booth
Flashlight
Tumblr
Last.Fm
Facebook

I don't get the task killer apps. The phone has Task manager built right in, isn't that the same thing basically? I've been using it and it seems to work just fine for me.. Someone let me know though. I'm curios
