Samsung, AT&T, and Costco advertise the phone as hands free voice dialing capable.  We all know now that is not true.  We have been told since September 2010, that the 2.2 update would solve it.  I talked to Samsung yesterday and they are now saying maybe sometime in February.

If there are enough people interested in doing something about this, I am going to find a good attorney to see how we can proceed.

Thanks for your time and God bless all of you.

It's things like these that piss me off.

I really hate when people conjure up ideas to sue someone else because of some stupid reason.
This is almost as bad as this woman suing a car company cause she thought putting it in cruise control would have the car drive itself and ended up crashing.  Her defense was that the manual didn't say it couldn't drive itself.

Do yourself a favor... install a custom rom with 2.2.1 firmware and then tell us what you think.

you know, your right. we shouldn't hold companies accountable for the things they say their products will do. who cares if you get ripped off?. just roll with it and give them your money.

I think they would solve the issue if they just adopted and allowed rooting and custom roms without fear of voiding a warranty. I have rooted and am running "ultimate" rom. It does everything that was originally promised. I'm ok with them not fulfilling their promises as long as they let everybody find another way. Maybe even have one dedicated person at each store that can root/custom rom someones phone if they ask. It's the  unfulfilled promise along with the ban that gets me.

there is a huge difference between non affirmative and affirmative

Non Affirmative:  they did not say "the cruse control will drive your car for you

Affirmative:  they did say "yes, it will do voice dialing".

thats the difference. one they didn't lie or make a affirmative statement, the other they did.

some people will sue over what color their mochofrapacheena half soy half buttermilk eco green chi tea is.

but when a company says "yes, this car will fly" and it won't. thats the reason we have legal recourse.
