Are these ROM's safe? I just had a debit card hacked not saying it came from the custom roms but since this happen to me it got me to thinking how do we know that these ROM are safe.

I've had a friend interested in security ask me that question too. In the end, the only way to make sure they are "safe" is to ask the developers for the source code, read through it, and then compile the rom yourself. There's no other way around it.

did you buy anything off of the market? i really dont know the only time i put credit card info is for the market i dont keep any of my info on my phone AT ALL just my way of keeping my butt safe

The same way you don't know how safe an internet site is without the SSL certificate depending on how/where you attempt to make purchases.  Even with SSL there's no guarantee of hacks not occurring...

No i havent bought anything off the market but i do have paid apps(wink) im not saying it came from a rom but it could be just as easy for someone to hack our phones thru our roms get alot of our info. just got to thinking about the security of everything really once my account got hacked lol!
