Is it safe to update using it? I've tried to check if there's a new update and it prompts me that there is. So it's asking me now if I want to update to the new software update from AT&T. What should I do?

You can try, but if it fails I would not try again, because if you do, then the update is going to be re-downloaded all over again.

From what I have seen, most people have had it to download the update and then fail when it tries to apply it.  The end result is no update and your phone just chewed through however much data the download was because the Over The Air (OTA) update is downloaded over your celluar network and not wifi.

Many people applied the update through Kies Mini, but now Kies Mini is not working for a lot of people either, so something is going to have to be fixed before the Froyo update gets pushed out.

Really? Hmm. I guess I'm not pursuing to the update anymore. But now, there's like a timer on the notification bar cause I selected to postpone it. How can I remove it?

tell me this, go into your settings and down to phone info. What does your firmware say you are running? Does it have the words updated in it? If so then you are already updated if no then yes do the update.

Yes some people have experienced a problem with the update but once you do the update you shouldnt get another update for your phone so im betting that you are running a Captivate without an updated firmware

Yep. Mine doesn't have the update thingy on my phone. I dont't have any choice, can't postpone it so I decided to give it a shot. Successfully updated to the new ota. But I can't see any improvements, especially with the gps. Lol.

there is a few suggestions found here but people have mixed results and some of them require just a little knowledge but if you are willing to do A LOT of reading and are somewhat adventurous then you should be fine on most stuff
