Guys I am new owner of the Samsung Captivate and I wanted to set a personal wallpaper.  In doing so regardless of how I crop it the picture seems too big.  How do I get it to per say "fit the screen" so that it is clear.  Thanks

Are you having trouble getting the crop box to enlarge to encompass more of the image? Or is it something else? I think I misunderstand what you are trying to do.

I have pictures that were taken with a black berry and are saved on my SD card.  Some of those pictures turn out really well.  Some of them are just too large, regardless of the crop.  When cropping the image the picture looks good but when I save it to my home screen it is slightly distorted and way too large.  For example I took a picture of a racoon.  Pic looked good until I saved it as my home screen page.  Then it just looks kinda pixilated and too large.  Not small enough and not enough detail in the picture.  My BB took care of that automatically.  Thanks,

Koti

when you select the picture as a wallpaper it should come to a crop screen where you can choose the size of the photo. Other than that you could always crop the photo to the size of our phones screen on your ocmputer then transfer it over

I get to the crop screen and the larger I make the picture the clearer it is.  What I cant seem to do is get to be small enough and clear enough to fit the screen.  Even when I take a picture using the phone, sometimes it won't come clear when I save it as a home screen image.

huh?  Are you saying that you want the cropped image to be small, but clear?  Once you crop, the image is going to be adjusted up to fit the actual phone screen so if you make it small, you've reduced the pixels which is then magnified by the phone and why it comes out all blurry and junk-like.  Maybe I misread your above-post, disregard if so.

I see what you are saying.  When you first begin to crop the image.  Heck most of the time I just center it and your good.  Then when I save it as the wallpaper, even if I extend the box to reduce the magnification of the picture, it is still to large to fit the screen.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

The default wallpaper size (with scrolling) is 960x800. If you resize it on your computer using paint.net, etc. and send it to your phone, it will fit perfectly and be clear. I hope this helps!  Happy
