I'm trying to connect my phone to my pc, but after i plug in the usb cable, a message pops up saying "Please consult with your device manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed." Underneath that, it says "MTP Device" and across from it, it says "Failed"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For Windows XP:
First go to Samsung's website and d/l the USB drivers zip file and extract somewhere.
Try (on the phone) going under Settings:Applications:USB Settings and set it to ask every time.  Then try using Samsung Kies next time you plug in.  You should hear two pops from windows if you have a microSD card installed.
If not then you need to install the drivers by clicking/opening the USB symbol which has appeared in the lower right corner.  There are three total *.inf files that you need to have Windows install by following the 'new hardware' wizard.
Note: these drivers don't seem to be 100% working as of 5.02.0.2
There should now be a phone under 'My Computer' with the internal (and removable) drives visible

For Mac OSX:
try going under Settings:Applicatons:Development and turning on USB debugging

Yes...Once your drivers are installed, Samsung Kies program works great for transferring all your photos, mp3 files, and videos to your phone.  It also allows you to sync your calendar with your phone...it is a fantastic program! Happy

Hi,

When I click on the driver link, I go back to the Samsung download page, and there are no links to download the USB drivers.  What do I do now?  I am located in the US.
