I'm not really sure what I did. My phone was charging and I just opened up the camera, did something on my computer and when I looked back down there was a little lock icon near the camera's battery meter.  None of the buttons worked (including the bottom 4).  The only thing I could do was turn off the phone.

I don't get why there would be a lock on the camera (unless maybe for recording) where you cant even push the button to take a picture.

Tell me about this mystery lock, please!

Ummmmm....this may sound really stupid, but if you press the lock button on the side of your phone while your in the camera mode, a "lock" icon will appear on your screen.  I'm pretty sure this was your problem...

I was messing with the camera the other night and mine kind of did the same thing. I could use the camera but I could not get out of it. I tried the unlock button but it didn't do anything. If I pressed and held it I could shut it down.

I just did it right now but this time I couldn't use the camera but it unlocked just fine.
