When I'm on a call, and a text message comes in, you can hear the message tone very loudly...I'm not sure if the person I'm talking to can hear it, but its pretty annoying.

Anyone else experiencing this...or had anyone found a fix?

Did a little checking. If you use handcent messaging, there is an option for vibrate only when on a call for texts. I've ben using handcent for a while, and didn't notice that feature before....

Handcent? Is that only on a rooted phone?

Nope, no need to be rooted. It's a messaging program you can use instead of the native texting program. It's got a lot more options and is much better appearance wise. If you search on the market, you can find it and give it a try.
