Help!!!

My phone keeps freezing when I play audio files with sound player or with doubletwist or even when trying to listen to an mp3 ringtone through the settings. I did noticed that .ogg files have no problem, apparently is only .mp3 and .wav

Please help!! I am desperate I have tried hard reset and nothing!!

I'm having a similar problem. Whenever I try to play an audio file (of any kind) it continues to tell me that the file is not supported or no longer exists.  Every once in a while it will play and work, without me doing anything special to it. This phone is gonna be the death of me!

I should also mention that this happens not only with the music that is on my phone but happens if I am trying to play a pod cast or streaming music from the spiffy new Amazon Cloud.

Two questions that might help us trouble shoot:
  • Where is the music stored (internal memory or micro sd)?
  • What bit-rate is your music at?

Same issues here. Have tried Double Twist, PowerAmp and the player that came with the phone. Pauses can last up to 10 seconds. Phone is sitting still on a desk. When I press the lock/unlock button on the side of the phone, nothing happens until the song starts again. Phone is rooted, USB debugging is on. Songs are on an external SD card, 192 bit rate. Very annoying, Angry hope there is an easy fix for this.

Next Question, how many applications are typically running?

On my Captivate (both when it ran stock 2.1 and now stock 2.2), the audio files play fine.  They are wma files at a bit rate of 320.

I usually monitor closely what apps I have running so as to conserve memory and battery.
