Phone reboots continuously while media scanning

My phone went low on battery and switched off and when I charged it back on, I am not able to restart my phone.
It goes till "Media Scanner running" then has 1 soft vibrate followed by 3 soft vibrates and it just reboots (screen switches off and the same thing repeats, it does not reboot with AT&T logo and stuff)

1. I am on AT&T stock ROM with the Froyo update
2. I do not have any external SD card on the phone.
3. I tried removing the SIM card and switching it on, still its the same issue.
4. I charged the phone with the standard charger
5. I have tried removing battery and SIM and then putting them back on.

This is so frustrating...  I am out of warranty.

Can someone please help. 

My phone is at the same point!  Using an old blackberry but it really sucks! I paid so much for this phone to not even last a year!  If you have got your phone fixed please post!  Thanks!
