******I had no problems with my Captivate that I purchased July 2010 until I downloaded the new update FROYO 2.2.******

Here are my PROBLEMS[/u]:
1) I cannot send any MMS nor receive them.
   a. if I send a pic it says "sending" and never sends.
   b. if I receive a pic it says "downloading" and it never downloads.

2) Everytime I connect to my WIFI, 98% of the time it says "Unable to connect, data connectivity error".

3) Also, I used to be able to adjust my volume from Silent to Vibrate to loud, louder, etc.  Now I cannot do that, either you set it to Silent and have your volume adjustment loud, etc or you can remove Silent and add Vibrate and have your volume adjustment loud.

******So I called AT&T and they couldn't do anything without having to do a Master Reset which I did not do.  So in turn I called Samsung and they told me that they couldn't do anything with my phone that it would have to be AT&T to solve the matter.  Samsung also said that even if I were to do a Master Reset that my phone would probably not fix my problems.  I asked Samsung if I could unload FROYO 2.2 and go back to the old version and they said no.
I loved my phone prior to the Upgrade and now it aggravates me!!!  Angry
I would greatly APPRECIATE any HELP that you may have, please.******

I know this really may not be the answer you're looking for, but if you want to get the most out of your Cappy and really enjoy the experience then you might want to think about flashing a custom ROM.  I personally don't use the stock ROM from Samsung/AT&T because of the bloatware and the fact that certain capabilities are not available to me plus Im a customization freak, but anyway the point is everything that you complained about can be remedied with a good ROM.  If you're open to the idea take a look here, maybe something will interest you.  Also to just fill you in a little flashing back to 2.1 isn't all that easy, not that its impossible because its totally possible but you need Odin to do that and I would also suggest root access and get yourself Titanium Backup if you dont already have it.  Anyway good luck!

In advance sorry for my English. I'm not a native English talker.

okay this is my story.

Yesterday i decided to upgrade my samsung Captivate from eclair 2.1 to froyo 2.2. i did every step according to this site:
http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view_us.jsp?SITE_ID=22&PG_ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=558&AT_ID=368733
In step 4, my phone was upgrading and it reached 100% and after it says on kies mini: Please wait until the phone reboots completely and the idle screen is displayed.
well my phone started rebooting several times and .............thats it. it kept doing that for over 3 hours straight. it displays only the white AT&T World Phone intro thingy, it doesnt go any further than that, then it reboots again and so on. one more thing,, it vibrates to when it reboots
I am afraid I 'bricked?' the phone if that is the correct word to use here. i started googling 'how to unbrick Captivate, they say to use Odin, but what they dont say is 'how to use Odin.  Can anybody tell me what am i suppose to do with odin, or any other idea, i mean another program to use or something. i just want my phone to start , thats it. I wont everrrrrr try to update it again
