First a little background..
I got my Samsung Captivate 4 months ago and haven't really had any problems with it. I downloaded many different apps and use many functions on the phone. I do not have an external memory card in my phone (don't really think I need one).
My Problem..
About a week ago a message popped up on my phone with a message reading something like "memory is too low" with a read icon appearing in the upper left hand corner of my phone (it looks like a red memory card). I deleted some large apps however the red icon still appeared on the tool bar. Last night I downloaded a free Dexter app which had one star. Then the following problems started happening.
The Problem..
Now, my phone freezes up. I can not do anything. I start the phone - Frozen. I pull the battery and sim for a few hours then restart - frozen. I try the master reset (holding the volumn down button) and nothing happens. When I start my phone and let it sit for a few minutes then try to use it, it will unlock with my code but then I try to do anything and the messages start coming up.
The Messages..

Is there anything that I can do besides by a new phone?
I appreciate any help!
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

well im just going to pull the gun here bc it almost sounds like a virus could or couldnt had been that dexter app that you downloaded im just going to say reflash the phone. You will not loose any saved data on the phone unless if you press the master clear button which i would not recommend doing unless if you want a complete reset and see how that helps you
