Call you carrier and ask for a subsidy code to unlock your phone. Tell them your going on a trip let's say to europe, and you want to buy a prepaid card while your there. They will probably make you wait a couple of days but its free.

You can unlock the Samsung Galaxy S using the unlock code,To get the Unlock code there are lot sites available through online,i suggest the site LINK REMOVED - DO NOT ADVERTISE  get the code there and unlock it,then you can use with any GSM Network Sim card in the Phone...But Free unlock code is not possible to get for the Latest Phone,You can get the Free code for Old Phones,For this model you need to pay for to get  the unlock code ....

This is not true at all. Pre 2.2 updated sgs phones can be unlocked via an app called "SGS unlocker" found on the market. And your provider is also required to provide you it so long as you are in good standing AND generally been a client for at least 90 days (depends on provider though).

DO NOT PAY FOR THIS AS YOU DO NOT HAVE TO!
