USB Problems

Hey everyone i just got my phone the other day and i love it. Its such a welcome relief to all the restrictions that come with my iphone. The only problem that i seem to have is that whenever i connect to my computer is says its installing the drivers and then it gives me a failed notice. I tried downloading the drivers from samsung but after it says they were installed correctly. i connect me phone and it tries all over again. Someone said to debug my usb is and the same thing happened. I also tried to download Kies and that only made the option to debug impossible. does anyone have a solution or should i just return this one and get me a different phone??

What OS is your computer running?

If you are just wanting a USB connection for media and file transfer, try the following:

From the main Home Screen, tap on the Menu Icon (bottom left of device).
Select Settings
Select Applications
Select USB Settings
Select Ask on connection
Tap the Home icon
Connect the device to the USB cable and PC
A list of options should appear on the device's screen
Select Media (I beleive, I don't have my usb cable here to verify)
The PC should see the device and register it as a media player, and at that point you can access the device's storage or sync with a media program

To transfer files from Galaxy to all devices, download dropbox for each device - the first 2 gb is free and it will allow to to sync all devices at once and when you change one device, it changes all.

I found an app called webkey. You can worldly transfer files to the phone, and even control the phone from your pc.

also tells you were your phone is located the only thing i hate about it is that its not exactly "secure" if someone knows what your password is for the phone
