I just got the captivate i897 and i tried to connect to my adhoc wifi but it just keeps scanning without actually finding the network. I need it to work cos this is pretty much the only way to access the internet on my device and there are no at&t services available in my country.

What type of wifi isyour router? (b/g/n etc?)  There are instances where people have had trouble with n-type routers and the cappy...

Ah, sorry I misunderstood you the first time. As a stock unit the captivate cannot automatically detect ad hoc networks. Actually out can but it does them out automatically. So depending on how tech savvy you are there are some workarounds for it.

I understood you in my second post. Did you read the article that was linked in my other post? If you did, you would understand that there is no quick fix (and no app that I have come across) that will allow ad hoc connections. If you want to make your phone capable of connecting to ad hoc networks you'll have to so sombre sorry work. Sorry.
