Greetings all,
I've been a Captivate user on the Rogers network in Canada for about a year now.
My wife and mother also have the same phone (they figure it's easier to have me be tech support for them, so what I get, they get...gets pricey!)
My son, on the other hand turned his nose up at the Captivate, and went with the Samsung Nexus S the other month.
I'm up to the Carrier released version of Gingerbread (2.3.3) and it's not rooted.
I have other hobbies that keep me from that sort of stuff - feeding the mortgage for instance.
/Rant On/
I suspect, from previous google searches, I'm with a majority of folks who curse at Kies, (which no longer recognizes my phone after going to 2.3.3 - via Kies), Samsung, and Rogers respectively. Nice circle there - Rogers tech - call Samsung. Samsung tech - Call Rogers.
They need the equivalent of the TSANet program for consumers of Cell phones - something to stop the finger pointing. (yes, I do do tech support for a living - enterprise products, not cellular stuff)
/Rant Off/
sigh.
