I have had the Captivate for about a week now, couldn't be happier! All of my co-workers are iPhone users, I have an iPad, and iPod touch, and to be honest I was tired of iOS and its limited capabilities. When I decided to upgrade from my old dinosaur phone, I decided to go android, and my wife got the iPhone 4S. I made the better choice, 0 regrets, even given the age of the Captivate. I have also convinced two of my co-workers to make the switch as well.
Now I just have to figure out all the nuances, and so far this forum has helped tremendously! (tired all week to change default buttons at the bottom of the home screen, finally gave in and came to the interwebs!)
