Ok, so first off hello!
i am new to the Android/Captivate world.
So far im loving the phone. but the copy and pasting i am struggling with.
The 2 spots that im struggling with are SMS messages and Emails.
Now in the SMS i can see that if i hold what the person or I said that i can copy the whole section, But can i just copy select sentences? or words?
And in email im at a loss, cant seem to figure out at all, ive heard if i open the email in the browser that it would work. but is that the only way.
Ive also heard that android 2.2 has improved on this?
Can you upgrade? Im running 2.1.
Also my launcher is ADW, if that would matter for some reason.

Hello & welcome:

If it's a past sent/received text, you can only copy the whole message. If it's while you are typing & you only want to copy part of it, you can put the cursor at either the start or end of what you want to copy, then Long Press -- select text -- and a new cursor style will come up. Tap at the other end of what you want copied and it will highlight it that way.

Check out the Root/Mod section for more info about 2.2 updating before official release.
