New Captivate

Hello folks,

I am also a new Captivate owner. I must say that I am really enjoying discovering all the neat stuff about it. I purchased mine last week, and while a techie, am not a phone geek. I am enjoying the discovery process with this phone.

My only complaint so far is that I had to up my texting plan since I enjoy using swype so much. Eyes Rolling

Here's hoping to be able to contribute contructively to the forums.

OMG I am IN LOVE w SWYPE ha ha I sooooo want a "SWYPE keyboard" for my PC lol!

im still getting use to swype but i kinda miss having a physcial keyboard with sype it makes me think more and i loose my train of thought quite often

Welcome.

Yeah, swype definitely takes a few to get used to it, but in the end I feel like I can text that much faster, and it's been pretty intuitive and on the spot when choosing words for me. I thought I would miss the external keyboard too Punisher, especially coming from the Impression, but when I put the Captivate in landscape and start typing, don't even notice it. I haven't tried turning off the resistive setting yet though, maybe that'll make a difference...

Swype is wonderful. You have to know where things are located on the keyboard for it to be a smooth process but once you learn it's great.

Even then you don't have to be perfect. I know a few times I've been sloppy and it still knew what I was getting at.

It took me a day to get used to it but now I'm a swype pro!
