I just had a situation where one of the mods closed a thread because I get ticked off at a poster who replied to my question/post and he basically [falsely] accused me of tinkering with my device and hence the problem I was experiencing as a result. The fact is that issue I posted about is common, at least with my model of Captivate.
I replied back to that poster, which I didn't appreciate him accusing me that I didnt know what I was doing and I was tinkering with my phone. I felt his comment was bunk. The mod jumped in and defended the actions of that poster (are they in a relationship?) without actually taking the time to re-read my original post and his reply. Instead, the mod just skimmed through the post and commented about me ranting...not about the actual thread. I don't feel I was ranting in that thread, but I admit, I have in the past about other things. Still, she did not seperate the person from the problem. #bias
I was once a mod a while ago, and all too often boards have moderators who fail to be unbias and suffer from prejudice. These are dangerous people. Those mods should have their mod privileges removed and become regular members.
In any forum, there will be positive and negative criticism. This is called free speech. And yes, the forums have their sets of rules but censoring people's opinions and locking threads just because they don't like what they hear is immature and inappropriate. You may as well set up shop in China. The old saying, "power corrupts" is all too common among those who are in a position of authority, especially when they hide behind a keyboard and monitor in forums such as this.
I will not defend my actions past this post, but at least this post will remain unless deleted for others to see that there is bias in this forum by the mods "who can't handle the truth".
