Just letting some people know that on Monday (9/20/2010) on G4tv a show called attack of the show will be reviewing the Captivate. Its on at 7pm eastern time over here and is a pretty cool show about gadgets and tech and movies as well as comics and other fun cool stuff.

Im sure some of you have heard of the show and like it as much as me or more or less, but just putting it out there.

Later after the show they will put the review on their site and Ill try to post it up on here.

Wow glad someone liked the info.  Laugh

Olivia is beautiful, She hasnt been on in a couple of months though, I think shes doing a movie or some other project. Very attractive hostess's on there to fill in though Like carrie keagan.

They reviewed the samsung Vibrant and gave it excellent reviews. I cant see the Captivate doing any less than that, but well see. (they love and praise apple on there)

Samsung Captivate Smartphone Review
by: Moye Ishimoto on 9.20.2010 at 11:00 am
With a 4" Super AMOLED touch screen, a 5 megapixel camera and 16 GB of storage, the Samsung Captivate offers the ultimate smartphone experience. Kevin Pereira and Chris Hardwick review the phone that runs on Android 2.1, offers thousands of apps and more, which retails for $60 with a contract.

What You Need To Know

This is one of the sleekest smartphones on the market right now.
It's amazingly thin at only 2/100th of an inch thicker than the iPhone 4.
It feels really light at only 4.5 ounces.
The 4" Super AMOLED screen looks spectacular.
It isn't the brightest screen we've seen but it's definitely got the best contrast ratio of anything we've used.
The Captivate is a member of the Samsung Galaxy-S family, which means it has the same user interface as the Samsung Vibrant.
The touch screen is very responsive and the haptic feedback is enough to make it useful and not annoying.
Scrolling isn't as fluid as we'd like.
Samsung's widgets are useful, like the social network feeds and contact shortcuts, and the skin they've put on Android is nice.
It's also extremely fast in launching applications or performing tasks, when compared to other smartphones. It feels even faster than the Samsung Vibrant.
Although it's only using Android 2.1, Samsung plans to upgrade all the Galaxy S phones to 2.2, hopefully by the end of September.
All the features work as well as the Vibrant, but they share the same problems, too.
The 5 megapixel camera is only okay and there's no flash.
You can record HD video.
The browser is slick, and pinch-and-zoom support.
Flash support will come with Android 2.2
You can also stream media from your phone to a TV or computer using DLNA.
It comes with 15 GB of storage (supports up to 48GB)
Price

$60 with a contract.
Rating

5 Seals of Approval out of 5. (How do we rate gadgets?)

I think they got that price from amazon.com

It annoyed me a little that chris hardwick said that you could shut the phone off while in a call due to the power button being on the side of the phone and could be accidentally depressed.

Whenever you press the side button and hold it a window pops up with the options to power off activate flight mode or go into silent mode. If you dont pick an option it wont shut off. I dont even think they really used the phone for calls at all, if they did they might have seen what im talking about.

Thats sad. They really should put more focus into the reviews especially when they are on Television.

They also made a comment about the Haptic feedback, saying its annoying when if they did there homework they would have seen the option in settings to turn the haptic feedback off.

Surprised they still gave it a 5 out of 5.
