Just thought I would post a link to the UOT Kitchen. I just found it last night and have never heard about it since i started messing with my cappy which is odd.. Closest thing ive seen is the serendipity kitchen or docs rom kitchen. Anyways this is not supported for our phone but I did get everything on there to work. You just have to have some basic understanding of flashing a rom and a little bit of theming knowledge to get it to work. I used the UOT Kitchen to Customize the APK for me then i had to manually install it myself to get it to work because the CWM 3 Zip it created didnt work for me.

Anyways it lets you do a couple things easily if you dont already know how to do them like editing your notification bar header, footer, the colors, fonts, boot screens, icons, overscroll glow color(gingerbread).

Here is a picture of my phone after modifying running continuum 5.4.1

This is stock continuum (no themes except for what i did with the UOT Kitchen)

I know the pics are ugly But I was just seeing what I could do and What worked. As you can see you can Change your Notification bar font, color, header, footer.. You can change the color of your popup boxes and the backgrounds to some of the system boxes.. Also other things work like changing the overscroll glow color which i couldnt take a picture of for some reason.

Remember this kitchen is not technically compatible with our phones so if you screw something up I am not responsible I posted just to show you it does work. But I had to manually install the theme myself.

Hope this helps someone.

UOT's been around for a while now (half a year or so at least?) but I'm surprised that it works with Gingerbread that well. Speaking of which, I'm waiting for BLN and power + charging issues to be fixed before trying it out.

Hey Xerp,

I'm somewhat of a noob when it comes to modding themes, add-ons and such.  I'm running Serendipity VII (GB based 2.3.3 ROM) and I tried uploading my framework-res.apk and systemUI files to UOTKitchen and I kept getting error messages.  I thought I was following their instructions to a T but apparently I'm retarded.  Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Have You tried applying the apks or boot animations manually by mounting with a file explorer like root explorer and copy and pasting? I do this if the automatic cwm zip wont install it correctly..

Also it could be that the latest serendipity is having problems.. I Have done with Mosaic, Serendipity, and Continuum.. im running Continuum 5.6 right now and it is supported in the UOT Kitchen if youd like to try it with that rom... I dont know if Mosaic and Serendipity are supported yet but ive done it with all 3 even if they arent and I know I did it with continuum before it was supported..

Reply back what your doing to update or PM me and maybe I can help you resolve the Issue.

Xerp,

Actually I was trying to mod my battery icon, window animations, window glow and so on....  I already installed a custom boot animation (but I did that manually with Root Explorer into my system/media folder) - you could be right though, it might be S7.  I don't know.  When I get home from work tonight I'm gonna try going back on the UOT Kitchen & trying it again by trying to upload my framework-res.apk and SystemUI files like it says to do.

**Update: I tried again to no avail.  The error response I'm receiving is "Server (10) Error" for both framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files. Oh and they're both UNDER the  max required file size. Ugh!***

I dont recall ever seeing that error did you try extracting them from the UOT Zip itself and replacing the apks framework-res and systemui manually through mounting with root explorer in their proper folders? Doing it manually for me works the same as if a cwm zip flash does.. and i only do it if the zip fails..

Not sure where our communication has broken down but let me clarify.... I received that server error message while trying to UPLOAD my framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files and as I result I couldn't even get to the point where they cook you a CWM flashable zip file.  Get what I mean? I did exactly as their How-To section described by copying and pasting the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files to my SDcard and then (thru USB) moved them to my PC for upload.  Is there some other way I am supposed to accomplish this?

Oddly I dont know.. maybe its a virus scanner/firewall or something third party on your pc thats interupting the upload.. which makes no sense but adding the files on the UOT kitchen to modify should be self explanitory with little risk to mess anything up aside from the actual flashing/modifying on your phone which would be recovered with a fresh stock rom flash... x.x I understand what your saying but thats a website issue on the UOT site and I cant resolve that I can only help you mod your phone...

Nonetheless... I appreciate you taking the time to try.  I wasn't sure if it was something I was doing that was CAUSING their server to not 'like' my files.  I don't know if that's the case or that S7 just isn't compatible.  What Version of Serendipity were you running when it worked for you?

Just wanted to show some shots of mods I made with UOT. I'm running Serendipity 7 with the OJ theme I acquired from an amazingly talented themer on XDA... so everything has an orange glow theme to it....

Very cool mods!  I'm digging the green lovin' and the hubs would probably like the orange one.

Because modding is way above the capacity of what I've done with my Cappy (or rather had time to really do)...I see the battery life icon is a sweet little countdown-type circle.  Is that tied to the actual ROM used, or is that something each of you have tweaked separately?

The battery mod is from UOT Kitchen. The ROM and orange theme just came with the vertical GB batt icon with no % displaying. The kitchen has a slew of battery icons to choose from with and without the % and you can customize the color using hex codes to match it perfectly. I've used UOT countless times now... LOL

I did the whole android green thing (which is the color the stock S7 ROM comes in) for awhile. But then a theme dev on XDA created a blue theme and I used that for a few weeks and now he just released the OJ (orange) theme and its a bit easier to read and see than the blue. Check out the Market shot below too...
