I've done a lot of reading trying to find out why I can't boot into Clockwork Recovery to flash a ROM. The only solutions I have found so far involve adb commands and such things that are over my head at the moment. So I'm just making one last attempt to find a simple solution. If you know of one let me know. I thought using ROM Manager would be the simplest way but of course it has to be difficult as well. If I can't get Cognition flashed in a day or two I'm giving up and just settling for plain old Root and I'm done with it. I'm getting too old for this crap! Thanks.

Are you sure you even installed clockwork recovery? You can install with rom manager if your rooted.. And there should be an option in rom manager to reboot straight to recovery menu if you have installed it correctly.

Yeah you need to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" at the top of ROM Manager. If you have trouble, try looking for a tutorial

I had the same issue.   The solution, google "3e recovery installer".   The stock froyo rom has a locked recovery that won't let you install clockwork.   The program you'll find from the google search will install a modified recovery.   Also after you install it, make sure to hit "reinstall packages" from the stock recovery to complete the installations.   Believe me I pulled my hair out 6 hours to find this information.   I'd provide a link but I'm not home, I'm on my phone.   But if you just google that you should be good.
