Don't know if anyone else has found this yet but sicne i have seen any posting for it thought i would make a posting for it

for swype when you press on the letter "B" and swype over to the letter "V" you get a degree symbol with a C after it for degrees celcius

Also for the contacts when you swype the name to the right it starts calling the person and if you swype to the left it brings up the messanger to text message the person

I thought the swype thing for the contacts was told to the user with the initial popup notification when you first opened the contacts menu.

As for the degree thing, that is nifty o.O   Seems sort of random.

With the Swype keyboard you get the following :

Tap = key pressed
Short hold = Secondary symbol on key pressed
Long hold = Opens a different set of symbols for each key

Pretty cool stuff. Thanks for making me look this up. LOL

I found something too. If you drag your finger across the top edge of the screen in either portrait or landscape, it changes the brightness.

I wrote this on another topic, but sinse we are talking about swype I thought I would mention it here too. If you swype from the bottom left corner button to the SYM button it will change the keyboard to arrows and other buttons.  This is nice for navigating within text.

Not sure if this is a feature. Is it because you are blocking the light sensor at the top? It is used for auto adjust of screen brightness, and if you block it, screen brightness decreases.

 If I may, just a small clarification: you will want to swype straight down from the "swype" key at the top left of the keyboard to the "sym" key at the bottom left. For some reason after I read your post, I was trying diagonals, lol. Just confused me for a sec, I guess.

Ok, let me further clarify then.  If you are writing in Portrate mode, the Swype key is right next to the SYM key, so you would follow my first instructions.  If you are writing in Landscape mode then the Swype key moves to the top of the keyboard so you would follow wjkrysak's comment.  Sorry for the confusion.

Great tip for navigating within text on the swipe keyboard!!

That was one of my big pet peeves, having to try to touch the exact spot within text after I (inevitably) forget a space or letter.   Can't wait to use it for real!

Thanks!!

in the newer version of swype you can touch teh spot where you want and a ball (best way to describe it) comes up and you can move it exactly wehere you want it without the use of the arrows

Did you have the newer version?  How did you get it?  That sounds pretty cool.  I have also heard that you get a microphone button on the newer version too.
