Just one person. Those videos are of the Beta I found on this site. It does just what mine now does.
Not sure what is suppose to be wrong with the Beta version. But it sure seems to be working a lot better than the 2.1v
At least I can use it till the Official latest version comes out.

There are apps that allow you to backup everything. A popular choice is Titanium Backup and it is said to restore everything from apps to contacts and messages.  I understand that you need to set up your home screen again with widgets that were previously on there before flashing your device.

Oh yes, sorry.  I've been up for quite some time and I do apologize.

I have paid for apps and as far as I understand as long as you use the same Gmail account, you should be fine.  It stores your purchase history based on Gmail account and not the phone itself, thus, allowing you to use a different Android phone and not have to pay for the same apps.

More proof: I just flashed my phone to Cognition 2.3b6 and I downloaded previously paid for apps for free after setting up the same Gmail account I was using before.

Again, sorry for misunderstanding the first time.

No problem.just thinking it's time for froyo. About to try the latest beta try release. Just wanted to know what kind of data loss I would have and it seems minimal. Just tortuous setting phone back up. But I am sure it'll be worth it! Can't wait any longer for the update from att that will never come

I did the same update using the same video instructions. I am happy with the way my phone is performing. GPS is acurate to 16-20 ft now. Just cant seem to turn off geo tagging on my camera. Hmmm Maybe Im just over looking something.

It seems that Froyo could release any day, or not! Nothing has been promised from either Samsung or AT&T as of yet. But if anyone is looking for a fast ROM there are many options available (Cognition, Perception, Axura, etc...). All of the forementioned roms work very well and are extremely fast when compared to Eclair.
The Froyo rom listed previously in this thread also works well but doesnt add much in terms of speed. With that said I would suggest Cognition or Perception. I would also like to clarify that all changes can be reverted back to stock AT&T 2.1. So if you are tired of waiting for the "real thing" head over to XDA and download a REALLY FAST rom in the meantime.
