Visit http://ninjasmack.in to learn how to flash Cyanogen Mod 7 gingerbread 2.3.5 to your phone. This firmware comes pre-rooted, has side app installation option and many more options that you just can't get with the basic android firmware. It doesn't have swype yet but they are actively developing for it and releasing nightly builds every night. If you are like me you will be addicted to flashing nightlies to your phone in no time just to see what features they come out with next! Don't take my word for it, CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF! I don't seem to notice any lately. Versions 69 thru 77 have all worked flawlessly. It might just be my signal but version 78 has given me shakey service with txt mssgs not being sent. But I just moved to a new place so I can't be for certain, as right now I have four bars. So it's kinda in the air as to what it could be causing this.

As far as swellthekitty has told me I owe credit to the person who showed me this method of installing, so here goes,
I owe credit to http://twitter.com/Cyanogen team
For providing Cyanogen Mod and Clockwork Mod Via Cyanogen

http://twitter.com/DrMacinyasha
for answering my google contacts question and providing G-Apps

http://www.youtube.com/user/MobileTechVideos
for showing me how to flash to Cyanogen for the first time

I added my own informations other than just installing cyanogen that the person from MobileTechVideos who made the video didn't cover that cost me to lose all of my contacts and etc even though they recommended things, I still lost a lot of my data. It's my own fault for rushing into things but it helped me to help you from doing the same and sparking my interest into creating this blog post on http://ninjasmack.in

I have tried my best to give credit and also to provide you with all I can to prevent losing as much data as possible and explain in great detail the methods to use to prevent such from happening and what to do in the future after you flash over to keep you from losing anything. I still have a tiny bit more to add to it but for the most part just about everything has been covered.

As far as info about my blog http://ninjasmack.in it is just an informational blog about lots of things that include technology, being fit, eating right and anything else I find interesting or come across that I feel is share worthy at the moment. It features music made by me and links to all of my other external and internal sites featuring content that I have created.

A couple of the songs I have made are explicit but very cool so tread with care when clicking play if you are sensitive to that type of stuffs. =]

Any other questions about any of the information I have covered are welcome as well.

I will be adding a link to the frequently updated cyanogen nightly changelog on http://ninjasmack.in

Usually when Cyanogen Mod releases a newer version of Cyanogen that holds a lot of changes, it takes them about three or four versions to work out most if not all of the bugs. I like to flash over nightly and hardly notice too many bugs to report... but that's just me. And if there's something noticably wrong I usually flash right back to a working version. Its easy and painless once you learn how easy clockwork mod is to use in the recovery boot.

I will be adding screen shots to http://ninjasmack.in as well to showcase some of the features and also some more of the methods I use to flash over to newer version once the first transition is complete. However, I do not claim ownership of this flashing process, but like I said I felt it needed more info in order to make it a well laid out explanation of the process and easier to understand for first timers and also to protect you from losing any informations you might want to keep. It's a big step switching to Cyanogen but in all actuality it's REALLY easy to do.

I am actively building the how to process on http://ninjasmack.in so please keep checking back for further updates and new infos. If you have any requests, questions or info to what you think I should add then please tell me so I can help free droids from the stock version that lacks these great features found on Cyanogen.

I believe the person who made the video teaching you how to use odin to flash to cyanogen is actually a member of their team and if not you can get their information from the video I linked to.

Thank you and remember, Cyanogen is your friend.

Cyanogen has now merged their rom with Gingerbread 2.3.5 which means new stuff! The only thing they need back is app reinstalling. This was included in their 69-76 roms but is no longer available. In the versions above that. I am actively sending requests to bring it back because it was great to have your apps automatically reinstalled when you flash to a greater version.

Anyways enjoy the new features.

No problem kitty Happy thanks for the inspiration

So is cyanogen ready to go then?   I'll probably flash it on after November when my warrenty is up anyway.

Yup. I've been using it for months now. It always has all the latest updates. You can always flash it back to stock with odin3 if anything.

Yeah I've had my phone since last November and a majority of the time I've been running Cognition.  A month ago or so my speaker broke so I reverted to stock and made a warranty exchange.  Been running stock for a month, and its really starting to get old lol.  I think within the next week I'll be installing Cyanogenmod on my phone.  Honestly November 7th is when the warrenty expires and its highly unlikely the phone will have any issues before then anyway, and lets just get real, stock sucks.  I'm considering cyanogen over cog this time because I want a more pure android experience.

What is a "pure" android experience? i want a phone that doesn't freeze and is intuitive.  Would that fall under a "pure android experience"?
