Today samsung and google are releasing the Nexus S and it Has 2.3. I havent posted on this forum before but am an avid reader. and i have been hoping to get 2.2 on my Captivate from flipping july. THe nexus s looks a lot like the galaxy s. and for them to go to 2.3 and us to stay on 2.2 is unbelievable and unacceptable.

you think we will be going straight to 2.3 or would we get 2.2 for a short while then 2.3.

Anyway lets hope for the best. and hope that samsung doesnt take hella days for 2.2 and even more for 2.3.

I doubt it but if they do I will beg samsung for forgiveness for all the awful things i've said about them.

After Dec 16th you can get 2.3 all you want, just buy a Nexus S.

ROMS will come out for the Captivate with 2.3 as soon as 2.3 comes out, so dont worry

i have an unrooted Captivate. i was going to wait till 2.2 then root it but its taking hella days. im tempted to root it so i can get 2.3. should i do it. wut benefits will i have

The only reason I will go to 2.3 (from Samsung) is if there is a "lot" of really cool stuff. I have no intention of using much of anything Samsung has to offer. They can only kick me in the groin so much before I give up on them.

I loaded Cognition 2.3b6 and love it. It has all/more than touch wiz has to offer. I love the neat added features in the menus and start button function. There's too much to get into here.

Just saying, I like after market roms.
