Tried via Mini Kies, no update yet..

I highly doubt it will come out today regardless what the rumors stated.  I have not any thing from AT&T about this yet either.

I honestly think it will be early next year before we see this, although I hoping it will be sooner.

I tried a couple times real early and just a little while ago..Couldn't connect with the server...so I guess they are getting hit hard with all that are looking for the update.I kind of wondered about this since this is a Holiday and all and wither they would send it out on one..but..stranger things have happened before..and the day is still young..

I'll wait it out till after Thanksgiving..then if nothing has miraculously appears, I'll most likely root mine and see what new roms are working the best.

It would be stupid of them not to release it..and another PR hit for sure..even though it was never really made official by AT&T or Samsung on their web sites.

Knew this date was too good to be true.  Had the same problem on my last phone, Moto Qm, where they NEVER upgraded the software. If they do this again this time I'll stick around for my contract and them leave AT&T.

Try restarting your Captivate. I did and got an update notification ~9am. However, when I accepted it, all it said was 'connecting to DM server' for 10min. Now pressing software update in settings just causes 'No Firmware' to appear.
I suppose it's progress.
More than I expected, tbh.

Well Ron some people reported as early as tuesday they started receiving text messages from ATT about the update so I doubt it'll be as late as early next year.

I'm still not sure about the 11th date though.  I only believe official statements and even then I only half believe. I do think we'll get it by the end of this month though.  I hope at least haha.

Presumably, AT&T would spend a few months working in their custom overlay on top of the virgin Android UI.  And they probably need some time to ensure their bloatware is optimized for FroYo.  I work with people like this -- that have to put their mark on everything I produce; a lot of time and money to satisfy someone's ego (in this case, AT&T's). 

However, if the update goes forward without AT&T contributing to the critical path, I will gladly eat my words!

How do "updates" work?  Is it automatic?  I found "Software update" on the phone, but being a newbie, didn't want to click on it until I kinda know what I am doing.

9:30 P.M. MT and just got off Kies Mini and no update. Just said I have the latest update. What a bummer. Been waiting for Froyo, didn't want to pirate it. Want to wait to get the official version. Hoping it will have fewer bugs and be stable. That and won't have to reload all my stuff.  Sad Sad

We can only hope.  I keep hearing how AT&T promises updates and never delivers.  I guess if something does not come soon every one will make their own roms.   Sticking out tongue

Oh well all we can do is wait and see what happens at this point.
