My wifi stops working after a power outage. What's the fix? This is getting annoying.

Can you please be more specific. Do you mean your WiFi router dies when the power goes out(this is normal for all routers that require any AC to run)? Or are you talking about the WiFi on the phone itself? How about the type (make/model) of the router?

The more info you give us, the better we can help you.

Power goes out. When it comes back on, my computer, wife's phone and everything else reconnects to wifi. My phone does not. Belkin Router. I've done all the obvious things. Rebooted both the phone and the router. Gone to wifi settings. Forget existing connection. Have disabled all security settings. Keeps saying, obtaining IP address..then...not in range. I'm stumped.

Just an update. The only way I can connect to wifi now is through the All Share app. I can no longer connect normally. Just to be clear. I open All Share, select connect to wifi using all share and it connects. Then I hit home key and proceed. Anyone have any ideas what's going on here? The only other thing I know to do is to go and buy a new router.

Honestly, based upon my own experiences (general, not Cappy-specific) it really could be the fact that it's a Belkin router.  And yeah, that sucks.  Does the router have a WPS button on the front to try to connect that way?

Nope. No button. Yea its not a great router. That being said,I've never had trouble with it. Its always done its job like a champ. Had it for atleast 4 years. Time for a new one I suppose.

Any updated info on this problem? I had exactly the same thing happen. We have a Cisco (Linksys) router and all other devices (laptop, Ipad, Iphone) connect fine. If I use Allshare to connect, it works but disconnects in about 5 minutes. Very frustrating.  It works on other WIFI networks, just not our home one.

I'm connecting fine right now because i recently flashed a Rom. But as soon as my power goes out it'll screw up again i'm sure. Its easy to blame it on the router but so many people only have trouble connecting at home. Who knows? Perhaps a new Rom would solve your problem. Good luck.
